Manuscript note on inside cover: 'Recieved 19 April 1934' and 'G M Wilson, Traffic Apprentice, Bucksburn'- a suburb of Aberdeen. The editor was formerly head of the statistics department of the North Eastern Railway. The book sets objectives to be served by the use of statistics relating to ralway operation and its compilation was intended for use by students attending North Eastern Railway Classes.
