Colour. Narration. Footage taken from 1960 onwards. Features the southern approaches to Birmingham, the Lickey Incline and through Barnt Green and Kings Norton with the Halesowen branch. These are followed by the GWR route via Hatton Bank and the North Warwick line through Henley -in- Arden. The action features normal service trains with a variety of motive power i.e: Jubilee, Scot, 3F. 4F on the Midland and Hall, Castle, Grange, 9F and standards on the Western. A surprise visitor 34079 is banked by a 9F on the Lickey and 4472 'Flying Scotsman passes Kings Norton. The majority of power is steam but a few early livery BR diesels are also shown.
