90 Mins. Colour. Narration. The period from 1961 to 1965 was arguably the last glory days of steam traction. The Journey begins with 4-6-0 'King George V' arriving at Birmingham Snow Hill followed by a visit to Stratford -on -Avon for much freight and passenger train activity. There are visits to Banbury, Hereford Shed, , Gloucester Shed and Cardiff. The Chalford auto train is featured as are a number lines in Wales before returning to Hatton Bank for 2-8-0 No. 4707, King and Castle hauled trains and Bulleid Pacifics on football specials. Onwards to the Southern Region with scenes at Templcombe, Eastleigh Shed and Worget Junction, Hayling Island and the Isle of Wight. Next is Rugby on the Midland Region for Princess Coronations, Britannias, Patriots, Royal Scots and Jubilees. A trip to Scotland features the ex Caley Single and is followed by a visit to the Eastern Region at Kings Cross. Early preservation scenes are featured along with industrial steam at Kettering Furnaces and other venues. Onwards to Granada in Spain to see 240 No. 2020 and many other types and then to Nice in France visiting the Reseau Breton with more steam action.
