80 Mins. Narration. British Railways steam came to an end on the North Eastern Region in September 1967 and there are views of workings at Ryehope Grange and the last passenger trains on the Alnwick branch. There then follows Classes K1 2-6-0 , Q6, J27 and 9F hauled freight trains in 1966 at Tyne Dock. Back in regular BR steam working days, a visit was made to Darlington where A1 and A2 Pacifics, V2 2-6-2s, WD Austerity 2-8-0s, Jubilee 4-6-0s and Ivatt 4MTs were seen. Industrial steam in 1967 featured Backworth, Widdington, South Hetton, Burradon and Doxford and the former Bowes incline which was worked manually. There was a visit to Beamish Museum to see 0-6-0 J21 and the replica Locomotion No. 1 followed by scenes at the Shildon 150th Anniversary in 1975 and the Cavalcade event. Lastly, class K1 No. 62005 is seen on a railtour in 1967 from Stockton to Catterick along with much more.
