67 Mins. Narration. Features the line between Manchester and Crewe filmed in the 1960s when steam ppredominated. Manchester Victoria and Exchange were busy with passenger, freight and parcels traffic. On the same route, at Miles Platting banking often took place to the summit at Newton Heath where a shed visit was made. The line from Manchester Piccadilly, Stockport Edgeley steam shed is visited and the journey continued southwards through Cheadle Hulme, Wilmslow, Gostrey and on to Crewe where a wide range of motive power was seen between 1962 to 1968. That ranged from Princess Coronations, Jubilees, Royal Scots, Crabs, Jinties, Black Fives, 8Fs along with BR Standards.
