Manchester Victoria and Exchange were busy with passenger, freight and parcels traffic. On the same route, at Miles Platting banking often took place to the summit at Newton Heath where a shed visit was made. The line from Manchester Piccadilly, Stockport Edgeley steam shed is visited and the journey continued southwards through Cheadle Hulme, Wilmslow, Gostrey and on to Crewe where a wide range of motive power was seen between 1962 to 1968. That ranged from Princess Coronations, Jubilees, Royal Scots, Crabs, Jinties, Black Fives, 8Fs along with BR Standards.
