60 Mins. Narration. Steam continued in the Welsh Valleys for at least a further ten years following its demise on British Railways. The introduction to the programme includes some Western Region steam followed by a visit to the scrapyards of Cashmores and Woodhams and then on to industrial steam sites which are mainly colleries. These included Brynlliw, Graig Merthyr, Maesteg, Park Treorchy, Wern Tawr and Mountain Ash along with the steel works at Llanelly. The industrial locations range from the scenic to typical industrial and several of the locomotives are preserved today including ex GWR Nos. 7754 and 9642.
