68 Mins. Mostly colour. Narration. Mainly filmed on lines in Devon with both Western and Southern motive power and includes the Sidmouth Junction to Exeter Central branch via Budleigh Salterton. Western branches see steam on the Exeter to Tiverton, Dulverton and Barnstaple lines using 14XX, 73XX and pannier tanks as motive power. The Hemyock branch is seen in ordinary traffic days and the 1963 visit by 60022 included a corresponding visit to Hemyock headed by a 14XX with assorted brake vans. The Western main line from Exeter to Newton Abbott produced a 28XX and is followed by visits to the Totnes to Ashburton branch between 1958 and 1970. Finally, the Launceston to Plymouth line is shown being worked by prairie tanks. Most of the lines depicted have long since gone along with the motive power.
