The large sytems of Ashington, Philadelphia and Corby compare to smaller concerns which only had half a mile of track. Narrow gauge workings, particularly those in North Wales,the ironstone quarries of the East Midlands and systems at Preston, Whitehaven and Falmouth Docks along with the crane tanks at Doxford and Stanton and Staveley all provide interest.
