1 HR. Colour. Narration. Three main railways ran through the East Midlands. The Midland itself, the London and North Western and the Great Central. These lines, their connections and branches are looked at from 1959 to 1967. The Great Central is followed from Marylebone to Nottingham with views from 1964 with B1s, Halls, Jubilees and 9Fs. The Newport Pagnell branch is covered, along with Northampton to Peterborugh East followed by Seaton to Stamford push-pulls. There then follows an in- depth look at the Ironstone industry and a visit to Derby works. Overall, motive power is predominatley LMR, with some ER and Merchant Navy No. 35030 along with a variety of early liveried diesel classes.
